Hi Peter,
I thought I would join the picture gallery with photographs of
my great grandmother Rachel Hannah (Morris) EVES (b. c1865 - d.
1903) with her daughter Mary Ellen MORRIS-EVES (standing behind -
b.c.1886) and son Arthur EVES (my grandfather - b.10.June 1896 -
d.Nov.1965).

The second picture is my great, great grandmother Mary Ellen NEWTON (formerly STANDISH and MORRIS - b. 1833 - death not known) with my grandfather at aged 8 or 9.(just after his mother had died) Mary Ellen was from the renowned STANDISH family of STANDISH HALL, WIGAN. The family lived in Liverpool and some of the Standish women were "provision dealers." Her first husband (?) Morris is believed to have been a Ship's Captain; I do not know what became of him. My gg grandmother Newton remarried to her sister's Elizabeth STANDISH's brother, Evan NEWTON from South Wales. The family remained in Liverpool. |

The third picture is of my great grandfather's David EVES' coal carrying vehicle - a Model T Ford. Standing in front of the vehicle is my father, William David Eves b. 11 Jul. 1923 - d. 10 Feb. 1996 (known as Dave) along side him is his older sister Phyllis LOVELL (EVES) b. 29 Sept. 1920 and still living, and younger brother in the very front, Arthur EVES jnr. b. 27 Jul.1925 - d. Dec. 1999. |

I hope you like these old photographs - I am expecting a few
more from relatives.
All my EVES relatives are still in UK - I am, as far as I know,
the only ones to emigrate to Australia.
Regards,
